This project is the work of ORW, Landscape Architects and Planners in White River Junction, Vermont. While there from 2008-2011, I had the opportunity to project manage the site development team and help design the features and components shown. The railing system is a custom designed piece and we worked with Jeff Sass to construct and fabricate the special design. The site presented many challenges, including a steep grade and a sloping street. ADA accessibility was a primary concern for the regrading, and the railing fabrication, as well as creating an attractive patio and gathering spot, from which to enjoy the views of the campus and distant mountains. The materials were consistent with local character of the historic site and included granite pavers, green mountain granite wall stone and blue stone wall caps.
